The Hamster Snatcher

Madeleine, a lonely French girl, becomes enamored with a pet hamster while working as a house cleaner and decides to steal it.

There's a famous saying from W.C. Fields that goes, "Never work with children or animals." For my first attempt at a narrative film, I went against latter part of his advice. My friend Taryn came up with the idea of doing a romcom but instead of a man, the love interest was an irresistably cute hamster. Our aim was to shoot something stylistically in the vein of Wes Anderson and Amelie. We wanted to create something that was fun, silly, and had a joie de vivre - capturing the essence of Taryn's personality.
